This is a humorous sketch about having our anchor in Christ, otherwise we could drift and become shipwrecked in our faith. It is obviously a rip-off of a popular TV show from the 60's. Two gals, Pepper and Carrie Anne have met and are taking a short cruise around Catalina Island with a female skipper. But the skipper gets off the boat to gas up and the girls fall asleep to wake up and find that they have drifted way out to sea. Pepper is played over the top as a dumb actress and they deal with possible sharks and rocks and the fear of shipwreck. Even though they cry out to God in prayer... they find themselves at the end on an island where someone named Gillian is also stranded. There are sequels that you can get to follow this sketch, parts 2 and 3. Or if you want all three, go to the general Christian script category and scroll till you find "Gillian's Island - The Play". You save a little money by buying the play rather than the three skits.
3 females plus one extra. About 12-13 min. (the part of Skippie could be played as a male)

This short skit is about a guy sitting on a park bench when an old friend sits down next to him and surprises him. The reason he is so surprised is because the friend had died. You figure that out as the story goes on and that this friend has come back from hell to ask the guy why he didn't tell him about Jesus. Something to make you think.

This short drama is about taking the time to count your blessings and be thankful for what you have. A window clerk at the post office hears one sad story after another that makes her think twice about her own complaints. The humor comes from the actress playing the clerk, as she hears the stories, she begins to become emotional and then loses control of her emotions when she hears the fifth story. The point is clearly made... and you can go out with a laugh as this poor woman loses it.
6 actresses. (Some of the parts can be easily re-written to be male) About 10-12 mins.

This short drama is filled with humor as we look at people with addictions or problems where they need to find help. A girl sits at the phone for a lunch break and takes the hot line calls. She gets very busy with a lot of different types of callers. This would work well for a lot of different ministries, but especially the Celebrate Recovery groups.
2 actors (written as females, but gender doesn't matter) 5 callers are heard in voice-over, so the actors can read from the script.
8-10 mins.

Loose lips sink ships, as they say. This sketch is about speaking out of turn and how easily something shared becomes gossip. Marguerite is giving free make-up demonstrations and two ladies from church come to get their faces done. Personal things get shared and what should be sad is actually funny. You see, Marguerite is foreign and she doesn't always understand what is being said and often gets things wrong. Sometimes humor is the best way to get the point across. Liver spots on a mother's hands become spots on her own liver and they begin to talk about her death. A lip injection is mistaken to be a liposuction. You will have fun teaching this important lesson and get made over at the same time. This is similar to the sketch "Lip Service".
3 actresses. About 14-15 mins.

This is another sketch about Marguerite, the make-up girl. This time Marguerite is a smaller part as the skit starts with two women from church who meet at the make-up counter and begin talking. It starts out as a pretty normal conversation until one of the women shares a prayer request that is supposed to be kept private. As she leaves, another lady from church shows up and the information is shared, but not very accurately. By the time Marguerite hears it, it is totally wrong and she always gets things mixed up anyway because she is foreign and doesn't always understand what is being said. What ends up being a serious case of gossip turns into a funny end when the original woman returns to be greeted by a distraught Marguerite. This is similar to the sketch "Lipstick".
5 females (one part is very small) about 15 mins.

This skit is about complaining. We all do it, and you will hear yourself in some of these lines. The first couple are complaining about service at a restaurant, the second about the weather, and the third scene finds someone complaining about things that are going on at their church. Unknown to them, the person listening was about to come to their church for a visit. Sometimes our complaining will do more harm than we realize.
7 actors (male or female - gender not important) About 10 minutes long.

This is written as a one-woman monologue, but it could be done with multiple actors. A newswoman (or man) interviews six women from the Bible, each very different, which could allow an actress to show much range, playing several characters. They include: Leah, Jezebel, Esther, Ruth, Deborah and Mary. If the sketch is too long, it can be easily adapted and shortened by removing some of the characters.
One actress. About 9 minutes as written... can be easily shortened.
